His maternal grandfather took part in the very first meeting, where plans were made to build the church. His grandparents came from Ukraine and wanted a place to worship God and this is the reason that they worked toward the construction of the church. Randy\u2019s mother made many of the rushnyky (ritual cloths) that go around the icons in the Ascension Church. These days Randy helps maintain the church at the request of the other members of the congregation.
