On the day following the wedding, there was a party at the home of her husband\u2019s family. Many people were invited for dinner. The dinner was followed by a round of gift-giving which they called a perepiy. Everyone would come up and put in a dollar into a jar as a gift for the young couple. After each person made a contribution, he or she would receive a piece of korovai (wedding bread) and a drink. A group of women sang traditional sad songs during the gift-giving.
