Goodeve, Saskatchewan

St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Goodeve, SK is an old parish, but with a new building. Melvin Klus, Lavone Sedlovitch, Anne Elash and Morris Yanush remember when the church used to be full to overflowing.  There were so many people in the church that, even with everyone standing, some people who had to go out onto the porches. In 1986, when the number of parishioners started to decline, they built a smaller church. Generous donations from parishioners helped decorate the new church. The church’s embroidery was done by Mrs. Kratt, a woman who immigrated from Ukraine and now lives with her husband in Yorkton, SK.
