Summer Holidays
Summer holidays are usually celebrated in a circuit of sorts. That is, the various churches within a particular priest’s circuit will typically have their Khram or Praznyk during the summer. A schedule is made up allowing the particular parish to have its event as close to the actual holiday as possible. The schedule is distributed and those parishioners who want to attend services weekly can follow the priest on his circuit. The automobile does have some advantages and, while it contributed to the demise of many prairie towns, it does allow both the priest and the people to attend services further away than would have been possible in the past.
