Orest Machushek from Boychuk Ukrainian Orthodox church in Rhein shares some humorous moments from his wedding. He remembers how his bride’s father walked her down the aisle in the church with a towel stuck in the back of his pants. Orest explains that, when his father-in-law was getting dressed, he washed his feet in running water. Afterwards, he sat on the towel. It got stuck in his belt and hung there throughout the wedding ceremony in the church. Another funny moment was the tradition of “buying” the bride for a bottle of whiskey. When Orest got married, the alcoholic treat was a bottle of moonshine.
