Many events are held at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church in Tuffnell, SK. These events include baptisms, weddings, and even a fiddle camp. Larry Ukrainetz remembers that the land for the St. Mary’s cemetery was donated with the stipulation that both the Catholic and the Orthodox could use the land. Half of the cemetery was supposed to be assigned to one church and half to the other. In the Catholic side of the cemetery, there is a grave of a little girl buried next to the outhouse. Her name was Mary Savyk. She passed away before she was baptised. Church rules demanded that she be buried outside the cemetery proper. Traditions are now changing and Larry Ukrainetz is working on getting the girl recognized. He will have her name and the dates of her life engraved on a cross.
