The Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Norquay is no longer in active use. As is the practice, the sacred objects of the church are being removed by the priest. Many sacred objects are now being used in other, different, Ukrainian Orthodox Churches and the unused objects are being put into storage.

The rosary on this icon was given to the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church by Mary Shankowsky. The rosary was a gift from her son. Because Mary had breast cancer, she said the full 15 mysteries of the Rosary every day. And she lived with breast cancer for 35 years. The other parishioners of the church believe that Mary was able to live a long life because of the help of the Mother of God. They say that Mary herself told them that she never missed mass on Sunday and said the 15 mysteries every day was so that the Mother of God would help her fight her cancer.
